(Washington; eTruePolitics) – Fire the PR team. Following his description of Baltimore as “rat infested,” who thought it would be a good idea for Donald Trump the next day to appoint someone with the name Ratcliffe to a sensitive post?

Trump defended his Sunday announcement of John Ratcliffe, a Texas Congressman and diehard Trump loyalist to replace Dan Coats as Director of National Intelligence (DNI).

“I’m the least tone deaf person in the world,” Trump said. “Ask my piano teacher.”

Trump denied reports that the White House had requested Rep Ratcliffe change his name until the Baltimore rat-infested controversy subsided.

“Fake news,” commented Trump. “I did mention that ‘Johnny the Rat’ wasn’t a great nickname for the Director National Intelligence, but Rep Ratcliffe assured me that if he discovered anyone using that moniker he would quickly get them executed.

“Problem solving, that’s what Johnny and I are all about.”
