Washington (eTruePolitics) – Off we go into the wild green yonder? Current president Donald Trump announced that the United States  Air Force’s newest base will be built in Ireland, adjacent to the Trump International Golf Course in the village of Doonbeg. The surprising development was seen by many as an attempt to quell criticism of the Trump family profiting from government trips directed to the financially floundering Doonbeg golf course, a violation of the Constitution’s Emoluments clause.

“If it’s an OFFICIAL Air Force base then there is no emolument problem,” tweeted Trump. “FAKE NEWS!”

The Trump International Golf Course will be renamed The Trump International Golf Course, Hotel & Air Force Base, sources told eTruePolitics.

Trump explained that the new air base was necessary to protect American golfers from attacks by nearby Iceland which he described as a “hostile, golf-hating, rogue nation.”

“We have over 100 golf courses,” said Iceland’s president, Guðni Thorlacius Jóhannesson, “and we’ve never attacked anyone.”
