BANNON STATUE IN NEW YORK HARBOR: NOT SO FAST
New York (eTruePolitics) – “You’re fired,” said current president Donald Trump to the Statue of Liberty days after the Charlottesville horror. The tweet was quickly followed by the surprising announcement that the Trump administration would remove the iconic Statue of Liberty from NY Harbor and replace it with a a monument honoring ‘America’s co-president’ Steve Bannon.
Now, with Steve Bannon fired, sources close to the Trump administration say that the Bannon replacement statue may be in peril.
“Steve earned this honor fighting for rightness,” Trump said in a late night tweet which first revealed the Bannon monument plan. “Designed it himself! BIGGEST STATUE EVER!”
The statue was said to be a ‘thank you’ from Trump to his chief political strategist. Bannon has long detested Frederic Auguste Bartholdi’s sculpture, an 1886 gift from France which the former Breitbart employee pointed out was originally called ‘Liberty Enlightening the World.’
“That’s about as nauseating as it gets,” Bannon commented.
In a related story, White House press secretary Sean Spicer said that the administration’s plan to remove Plymouth Rock would be announced shortly.
